Post Types - Explaining the Bracketed Title Prefixes

Welcome. First off, good taste to you on not only being a reader of blogs and being on my blog, but also reading one of the extra pages that informs you about how it works.

The purpose of this page is to explain what those bracketed terms at the start of some of the titles of blog posts on Figment Area are. These bracketed tags are not in use yet.

It's important to know that not every post needs or has one. In fact, the first post on the blog, back from before I rediscovered how good I had it on Blogspot and migrated them, have never had a bracketed prefix on them. These are like the "normal" posts on Figment Area.

More specific and genre-ized posts will have names like (Fiction Repair Concept) Some Ideas to Make 9 Better and (Complaints) Fuck You Printers.

Cutting to the chase, here now is a list of things you will find in brackets at the start of post titles on this blog if you continue to read it, eventually.

Fiction Repair Concept: Me sharing an idea I have just because I think it would hypothetically do things to improve a broken piece of entertainment media.

Complaints: When I speak very negatively of something. Those annoying Internet people can't very well say "You're complaining" to me - wielding it like a horrible personalized swear word - if the guy being negative has already acknowledged it! Believe me, there is a lot to complain about, and much of the time with very good, positive reason. As a fun fact, one of the proto-ideas for this blog was a site called Complaint Factory that was entirely made up of this post type, which I ditched after a psychologist told me to stay out of The Drama Triangle.

Hallways: Fictional blog posts, usually distant and atmospheric, in which I tell a story in a narratively distinct way from a post where I'm just talking about my thoughts on things from real life.

Distant Comments on Media: Not being quite a review, these posts contain me talking about a piece of entertainment that I think about, distantly looking at it from all the way over in a remote wasteland sector of a place called New Zealand. Currently not in use.

Writing From Hard Drive: Whenever I feel brave enough to put my writing out there, I will take one of the stories that I’ve written into the isolated confines of my PC, make any edits that I should make first, and then post it on the blog for all to see. Currently not in use.

How to Make That Feature: Ideas on how to continue a made or invent a new piece of entertainment media, as opposed to changing one that already exists. Currently not in use.

Random Concept Art: Sometimes, I will make a post that is tagged like this, which has pictures of planned projects and not much more than a hint of what is to come, to keep it murky and secretive. Currently not in use.

Weird Appreciation: Comments on things that express positivity about something that it is weird to be positive about. Currently not in use. Viability internally debated.

Playing Card Game Rules: Games invented by myself that can be played with playing cards, and an explanation of the rules that control them.
